Day I

May 9, 2022 7:40pm

Day one started with a relaxing morning in Slocumb. Before I started working, I threw some clay on the pottery wheel to wake up and feel inspired. I then walked around campus for 2 hours writing and sketching about what I saw. First I watched a curious friend on a mission for frogs. I watched little Ruby shove her snout into the Proctor pond and stick her tail up in victory as she trampled little mud homes. Her smile and positive attitude despite not catching any frogs inspired me to write a poem and draw and small picture. Next I walked to the Proctor graveyard to soak up the sun and listen to the bluejays sing. I sat there writing for an hour, about the flowers, the birds, and the people buried there. After taking some time for lunch I spent two hours in Slocumb writing and drawing, I also added some color to my sketches.

Day I hours: 5 Total hours: 5

Tomorrow I plan on starting my day with more pottery and then going outside to write more. I want to take advantage of this amazing weather while its here.
